We know that children benefit in many ways when learning outside of the classroom and we encourage this as much as possible in the everyday life of school. Whether this is a visit to our on-site forest school with its dedicated cabin and caravan, a visit to the outdoor classroom, use of the orienteering routes or just learning in a different way in a different space, our dedicated teachers relish a chance to get outdoors with the children.

Our forest school is well-developed and enables children to embrace learning opportunities in the natural world. Alongside mastering practical skills such as building a den or lighting a fire, children are supported to become resourceful, resilient and reflective learners. They learn to recognise and plan for risks as they arise which helps with problem solving in real life situations.
